A summary of our packaging process and conditions.
Packaging Process
-
- The Octobox acts only as a retainer for the fitted inner bag which is a controlled environment for the liquid retained within.
- Our products do not contain any preservatives and do not possess any inherent stability from low water activity or acidity. Therefore the product is packaged on a sterile filling line into irradiated aseptic packs reaching a temperature across the pasteuriser of 115°C for 75secs prior to filling.
- During this process we draw representative samples into small pack some of which are sent for analysis and others held as retained reference samples.
- The liners both small pack for samples and the full IBC liners are filled by the same method on the same filling head through the same type of filling spout. The spout enters an enclosed chamber and is then sterilised with steam at 140°C. The orange heat tight cap is then removed within the sterile chamber allowing the bag to be filled.
- At the end of filling the cap is replaced , the chamber is again steamed to reach 140°C and then the bag is released from the chamber.
